Sebastian W Rieger

Dipl.-Ing.(FH), MSc, PhD

Imaging Support Scientist

  • MRI experiment support across the WIN sites (BSB, FMRIB, OHBA)

Sebastian Rieger is an MRI physicist and medical engineer who thinks that MRI research facilities shouldn't be difficult to use. With his team at the Wellcome Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging (WIN) at the University of Oxford, he ensures the centre's MRI platforms are user friendly and reliable. Seb's team provide guidance for researchers from a range of disciplines, whether they are new to MRI or seasoned experts. Seb advises on MRI physics and MRI compatible instrumentation, and continues to develop the MRI setups to accommodate new studies with their sometimes complex technological requirements. In short, Seb's work allows the users of the MRI labs to focus on their research questions (and on their study participants!), rather than spending time setting up equipment, finding faults, or worrying about whether they are acquiring good quality data.
