Giedrė is a DPhil student in the Brain and Cognition Lab, supervised by Prof Kia Nobre and Dr Nahid Zokaei, and funded by the MRC. She is interested in how the striatum and the hippocampus contribute to memory functions, and how these contributions change with the development of neurodegenerative conditions that cause memory disruptions, such as Parkinson's Disease and Alzheimer's Disease.
Giedrė completed her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience at the University of St Andrews, supervised by Prof Julie Harris. Just prior to starting her DPhil, Giedrė worked as a research assistant in the Brain and Cognition Lab helping with studies investigating the effects of genetic and lifestyle factors on cognition and the brain in healthy and pathological ageing.
