Researchers from OHBA and FMRIB lead a stall on Healthy Brain Ageing at Templars Square shopping centre last week, as part of the Living Well Pop-Up Shop that ran from 15th to 21st of May.
Members of the public got involved with several activities whilst hearing about risk factors for dementia and how to stay healthy in ageing. They “played their cards right” by guessing someone’s age from a collection of brain scans, tried out a virtual reality task used to assess spatial navigation in people with dementia and had a go at the Trail Making and Stroop cognitive tests. Those who came to visit the stand really enjoyed hearing about our work, with lots of positive feedback.
Many thanks to Claire Sexton, Michele Veldsman, Melis Anaturk, Poppy Seager, Thomas Wassenaar, Madeleine Hurry, Ludovica Griffanti and Eniko Zsoldos for helping to run the event!
